This weekend, someone asked me if I knew about Art. Art means something different to every individual. I guess anything that anyone produces could be considered a form of art – even cooking is.
In my previous post, plastic bags for these women are a form of art; for a shopping person, they are just considered as a container, an art-less artefact.
I know many artists, some that don’t even know they are. Their un-awareness makes them an even better artist. An example of this is Tony Piracci. Not because he is part of my family, but because I haven’t come across this unusual style before. He puts art into almost anything. ‘Lo hace con arte’ – ‘He does it with art’, is a common expression in Spanish – almost anything you produce can be done with art.

¿Verdad que es fabuloso lo que las manos pueden hacer?
La cercania de las cosas hace que sea mas dificil que veamos lo que esta ocurriendo realmente. Muchos logran crear con las manos unas obras de arte estupendas pero pocos logran expresarlo tan autenticamente.

Idan Raichel – música un tanto inusual
Será que antes no tenía tiempo, o será simplemente por las circunstancias pero siempre escuchaba el mismo tipo de música. Y hay tanta variedad que los oídos seguramente nos castiguen por no hacerles oír y disfrutar o al menos probar cosas nuevas.
Hoy me cruzé con la música de un artista estupendo – Idan Raichel.
Sus canciones y su equipo/proyecto (the Idan Raichel Project) tienen un encanto único – mezclando música tradicional etíope y sefardí.
Yeshbiodkoach – traducción de la letra (en inglés), es una combinación estupenda con un toque español.
Otras canciones de la multitud, Mai Nahar (River Waters) y Chalomot Shel Acherim (Other’s Dreams) – traducción de la letra (en inglés) también son preciosas.
